At the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, we are dedicated to providing our community with reliable and high-quality drinking water. Our comprehensive service ensures that you have access to clean and safe water for your home or business.
Sources:
We rely on two primary sources for our drinking water. Groundwater from the Santa Fe Group Aquifer and surface water from the San Juan-Chama Drinking Water Project come together to produce approximately 32 billion gallons of drinking water annually for our service area.
Water Quality Report:
We prioritize the quality of your drinking water and regularly provide information to the public through our annual Water Quality Report. This report keeps you informed about the quality and safety of your water supply. Additionally, we have a Cross-Connection program in place to prevent contamination of the water in your household pipes.
Safeguarding Water Quality:
Ensuring the highest standards of water quality is our responsibility. If you have any questions or concerns about the water quality at your home or business, our dedicated staff in the Communication Center is here to assist you. You can reach out to us via email at waterquality@abcwua.org or call 842-WATR, option 1. For troubleshooting water quality issues, you can also find helpful tips on the Alameda County Water District website.
Source Water Protection:
Our Source Water Protection Program is an essential part of our commitment to preserving the integrity of our water sources. This program, outlined in our Rivers and Aquifers Protection Plan and the Water Quality Protection Policy and Action Plan, establishes goals, protection measures, and recommendations. We also collaborate with Albuquerque's Water Protection Advisory Board to address threats to our sources of drinking water. To learn more about local source-water protection efforts, we have an educational video available on YouTube.
Reliability of Supply:
We have developed a comprehensive strategy to ensure a long-term supply of water for our community. This strategy focuses on conservation, aquifer storage and recovery, water reuse, and the San Juan-Chama Drinking Water Project. For detailed information on our resource management plans, including WATER 2120 Resource Management Plan and our Drought Demand Reduction Plan, please refer to our website.
At the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, we are committed to delivering reliable, high-quality drinking water to our community. We prioritize your health and well-being by safeguarding the quality of your drinking water and ensuring a sustainable water supply for the future.
