God inspired me to write a book focused on a life abroad. My title was inspired by the souls I met there. A life as a missionary is not just about the beautiful side of ministry or living abroad, but about the trials and hardships faced in the everyday lifestyle of it. It’s living in the trenches and allowing God to open our eyes to the tragedies of this world. To allow God to break our hearts for what breaks his. I want others to walk this journey with me through this story.
After I moved to Haiti in January of 2013, I met a young girl named Ana Rose. Our last goodbye was one that would forever be implanted inside of my heart forever. Her exact words to me were “You are my spiritual mommy.” If that does not touch a heart then I do not know what does.
